Managing Director, Head of Central and Eastern European Investment Banking, Lazard
Bozidar Djelic is a Managing Director, Head for Central and Eastern Europe (‘CEE’) at Lazard, the leading global investment bank. Lazard has been distinguished in July 2024 by Euromoney’s Awards for Excellence as Best Bank for Advisory in CEE. 

Mr. Djelic has advised at Lazard since 2014 on a total of 55 transactions in 15 CEE countries for a total disclosed value of €31.3bn. Activity includes: M&A, corporate debt and equity raising, IPO advisory, privatization, corporate and sovereign debt restructuring, economic policy advisory.  

Recent transactions include: sale of Datagroup fixed internet to French investor Xavier Niel (Ukraine, 2024, €180m), Naftogaz eurobonds restructuring (Ukraine, 2023, $835m), sale of Fortenova retail/FMCG (Croatia, €1.8bn, 2023), advising Saudi TAWAL for the purchase of United Group telco towers (Bulgaria/Croatia/Slovenia, €1.22bn, 2023, awarded Europe’s best telco infra deal prize by TMT Finance), sale of Alpha Bank Romania to UniCredit (€300m, 2023), purchase on behalf of Czech Agrofert of Borealis fertilizers (Austria, €810m, 2022), purchase of Play telco and subsequent deals on behalf of Iliad (Poland, €3.4bn, 2020-22), IPO of Allegro e-commerce (Poland, $2.7bn, 2020), sale of Orbis hospitality (Poland, €940m, 2019) sale of telco Vivacom (Bulgaria, 2019, €1.3bn), sale of several CEE subsidiaries of SG (2018-2019).  He advised in 2015 Ukraine on its $23bn sovereign debt restructuring. 

Mr. Djelic has over 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors across transition countries, including eight years as a senior member of the Serbian government. He was Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration between 2007 and 2011, during which time he concluded negotiations for the Serbia's Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU, as well as the Schengen space visa-free travel status for Serbian citizens. During this time he also served as Minister of Science and Technological Development. From 2001 to 2004, he was Minister of Finance and Economy of Serbia.

Between 2005 and 2007, Mr. Djelic served as Credit Agricole's Director for Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. From 1993 to 2001, he was a Partner of McKinsey & Company in the Paris and Silicon Valley offices, specializing in financial institutions, media, and technology.

Mr. Djelic holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School, an MPA from the J.F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and an MA in Quantitative Economics from the School of High Social Studies in Paris. He is a graduate of the French business school HEC and the Institute of Political Studies (summa cum laude). He teaches at SciencesPo Paris.
