ALEKSIĆ Ivana
Global Education and Business Development Advisor, British Council
A seasoned public policy and education specialist, Ivana is Global Education and Business Development Advisor of the British Council focusing on the support to education reforms in low- and middle-income countries. She has worked for the World Bank (Washington DC and Belgrade) and the British Council for most of her professional career, and has consulted extensively.

Ivana holds a PhD in policy analysis with focus on education policies from the University of Ljubljana, and a master in international affairs in the area of economic and political development from the School of International and Public Affairs – SIPA, Columbia University (USA). As a visiting Civil Society Scholar of the Open Society Foundation London, she spent a semester (2019) at the Graduate School of Education of the Exeter University (UK).

Ivana publishes thought pieces and discussion papers in the area of education and skills. As the US State Department-funded Ron Brown Fellow she received the Columbia University-SIPA’s Moses Leo Gintelson award for advancing human values in international affairs.

Her professional interests include general and VET education reforms with emphasis on quality and equity improvements in service delivery in the education sector; teacher and school leader development and effectiveness; public policy design and implementation, as well as organizational development and change.
