President, Macedonian Chamber of Commerce
Branko Azeski, President of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia from 10 March 2005. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of the association for GS1 standards – GS1 Macedonia from 2012. Honorary Consul of Montenegro to the Republic of North Macedonia, with office in Shtip, from 2016. Starting from 2018, he is Vice-president of the Chamber Investment Forum (CIF), with head office in Trieste, Italy, and he was elected Member of the International Advisory Board of the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana the same year. In 2019, he was elected as member of the Advisory Committee of the Southeast Europe Business Development Network in Vienna, as well as honorary Vice-president of the Foundation Routes of the Olive Tree. Azeski was also a President of the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC) in 2006 and 2014, and performed the following activities and positions: Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Security and Societal Self-Protection in Skopje, teaching Constitutional Law, President of the National Conference of the
League of Socialist Youth of Macedonia in the period 1986-88, President of the Conference of the League of Socialist Youth of Yugoslavia in Belgrade in the period 1989-1990, President of the MB and Deputy General Director of “Sloboda” AD Ohrid (1990-1994), Chief Executive Officer of Slomer – Sloboda – Merkur (1994-1998), President of the Steering Committee of “Makedonija pat” (1994-1998), President of the Steering Committee of the Ohrid Swimming Marathon in 1993, member of the Supervisory Board of Sparkasse Bank Macedonia AD Skopje (2011-2016), as well as member of the Council “Gradski tatkovci” (City Fathers) of Ohrid (2013-2017). From 1998 to 2003, he is the General Director of the “Aleksandar Palace” hotel in Skopje and owner of the company “Hit Plus” – DOOEL. From 2005 until 2013, he was also a member of the National European Integration Council within the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
Azeski was a member of the Board for core transformation of the Chamber from 2004 regarding the organization and the programs that will lead to a new, clear and consistent method of operation, in favor of the interests of the Chamber member companies.
Branko Azeski is born on 31/01/1962 in Ohrid. He completes his studies at the Faculty of Law within the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. From 1986 to 1990, he is an active participant in the student and youth movement in Macedonia and the SFRY, where he performs the most prestigious and highest positions.
He is a winner of numerous awards and recognitions, among others: Special recognition “Best Chamber President in the region” in 2013, awarded by the European Management Association – Directorate for best manager SEE, as well as “Creator of the century” – 2016, award from the International Economic Forum “Perspectives” – Dubrovnik and “Promoglobal” from Zagreb, silver medal decoration from the Macedonian Orthodox Church – 2005, Plaque for contribution to the affirmation of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, both home and abroad – 2016, Plaque from the Bitola University for special contribution to the current cooperation -2019, Recognition for selfless support for development and promotion of the FON University – 2010, Recognition “St. Nicholas” for support and affirmation of the city of Shtip as honorary consul – 2018, as well as other numerous expressions of gratitude for support of culture, sport, religion and other events and activities of public interest.
Azeski wrote the books: “Five Star Stories”, along with the prominent journalist Goran Mihajlovski in 2004, “New Model of Economic Development” in 2010, “Development Prospects of the Chamber System in Macedonia” with Dr. Elena Milevska Shtrbevska in 2017 and several written specialized editions. He is author of series of scientific papers, presentations at distinguished scientific gatherings and participant in every significant economic forum in Europe.
