AZESKI Branko
President, Economic Chamber of North Macedonia
Branko Azeski holds the position of President of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia since 2005. In 2012, he became the Chief Executive Officer of the GS1 standards association – GS1 Macedonia. He is an honorary consul of Montenegro in the Republic of North Macedonia, headquartered in Shtip, since 2016. He undertook the post of Vice President of the Chamber Investment Forum (CIF), headquartered in Trieste, Italy, in 2018 and became a member of the Advisory Board of the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, the same year.
In 2019, he became member of the Advisory Committee of the Southeast Europe Business Development Network in Vienna, as well as honorary Vice President of the Routes of the Olive Tree Foundation.
Azeski was President of the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC) between 2006 and 2014, and has also performed the following activities and functions: assistant professor of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Security and Social Self-Defense in Skopje, President of the Republic Conference of the League of Communist Youth of Macedonia for the period 1986-1988, President of the Conference of the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia in Belgrade for the period 1989-1990, President of the MB and Deputy General Manager of Sloboda AD Ohrid (1990-1994), CEO of Slomer-Sloboda-Merkur (1994-1998), President of the Management Board of Makedonija Pat (1994-1998), President of the Management Board of the Ohrid Swimming Marathon in 1993, member of the Supervisory Board of Sparkasse Banka Makedonija AD Skopje (2011-2016), as well as member of the Council City Fathers of Ohrid (2013-2017). From 1998 to 2003, he was General Manager of the Aleksandar Palace Hotel – Skopje and owner of the company Hit Plus – DOOEL. In addition, he was member of the National Council for Euro-Integrations under the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia from 2005 to 2013.
Azeski was member of the Essential Transformation Board of Chamber in 2004, involved in the organization and programs that would lead to a new, clear, and consistent method of operation, aiming to advance the interests of the member companies of the Chamber.
Branko Azeski was born 31/01/1962 in Ohrid. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. Between 1986 and 1990, he actively participates in the student and youth movement in Macedonia and SFRY, where he occupies the most prestigious and highest posts.
He is a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, among others, special recognition Best Chamber President in the Region in 2013, presented by the European Management Association – Directorate for Best SEE Manager, as well as Creator of the Century in 2016, award from the International Economic Forum Perspectives – Dubrovnik and Promoglobal from Zagreb, silver medal decoration from the Macedonian Orthodox Church – 2005, Plaque for contribution to the affirmation of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, both in the country and abroad – 2016, Plaque from the Bitola University for special contribution to the present cooperation – 2019, Recognition for the selfless support for the development and promotion of FON University – 2010, Recognition Sveti Nikola for support and affirmation of the city of Shtip, being an honorary consul – 2018, as well as numerous certificates of appreciation for his support for culture, sports, religion and other events and activities of common interest.
Azeski has authored the books: Five Star Stories, together with the prominent journalist Goran Mihajlovski, in 2004, New Economic Development Model in 2010, Development Prospects of the Chamber System in Macedonia with Dr. Elena Milevska Shtrbevska in 2017, One Picture – Thousand Words, and several written specialized issues. He has produced a series of scientific papers, presentations at renowned scientific gatherings and has taken part in every important economic forum in Europe.
