Dragan Bjelogrlić was born on October 10th 1963 in Opovo, and only two years later moves to Belgrade where he completed primary and secondary education before enrolling the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. As a 15-year-old, he debuted in a movie “Boško Buha” (1978), playing the role of Sava Jovanović Sirogojno.
After graduating from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in 1989, he landed several roles that made him famous as an actor, but also characterized him as one of the leading Serbian artists. He drew public attention with the role of Slobodan Popadić in the television series Bolji život (1987 – 1990). This role was followed by roles in television series “Zaboravljeni” (1990) and movies “Crni bombarder” (1992), “Pun mesec nad Beogradom” (1993), “Lepa sela lepo gore” (1996). So far he has appeared in nearly 40 movies, twenty television series and dramas and 11 theatre plays. In 1994 he established a production company “KOBRA FILM”, responsible for some of the most successful theatre plays, movies and television series.
Lately, Bjelogrlić stepped behind the camera in the role of a producer and the first movie he produced was Lepa sela, lepo gore. His artistic ambitions continued in the role of a director in the movie and television series Montevideo, bog te video! which was a huge success. This movie was selected as the Serbian entry for the Academy Awards.
He is married to Maja Bjelogrlić with whom he has a daughter Mia and a son Aleksej.
