Mark is a researcher, policy analyst and writer who has been working in the fields of data systems and APIs for over 30 years. He is the lead author of the European Commission's API Framework for Digital Government which looks at how data is exchanged across government, has advised the World Bank on enabling data and API integrations for financial inclusion, and has completed research on data governance global best practices for the World Health Organization and on the maturity of health data ecosystems in Europe and the Western Balkans nations for the UK’s Open Data Institute. He runs a digital tech startup, Platformable, focused on supporting the development of open ecosystems, with a particular focus on supporting the development of health data ecosystems.
