DIECKMANN Kai

Kai Dieckmann is a German national with over 20 years of experience in leading luxury hotels around the globe.

After High School Graduation in both the United States and Germany, Kai started his illustrious career at the prestigious Brenner’s Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden, part of the famous Oetker Collection. After the successful completion of his apprenticeship, Kai joined the Althoff Hotel Collection and began his Dual Bachelor Studies at the Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg and the University of Cooperative Education in Ravensburg.

Having received his degrees of Diplom-Kaufmann (BA) and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Hospitality Management, Kai continued his career with the Althoff Hotel Collection where he entered the Fast Track Althoff Career Coaching program which led him to gain managerial experience at the Villa Belrose in St. Tropez, the Hotel am Schlossgarten in Stuttgart and the St. James Hotel & Club in London.

After two years as Senior Hotel Auditor with Hotel IQ in Bangkok, Kai continued his rise to the General Manager role with senior positions at the Grand Hotel Park in Gstaad, Six Senses Yao Noi in Thailand and the legendary Sandy Lane Hotel on Barbados.

Kai is now the General Manager of Regent Porto Montenegro and was instrumental in the integration process of the property into the IHG family after the Regent Brand was acquired in July 2018. He also oversaw the completion of the property with the successful opening of the third wing in October 2019.

Kai is a people and finance focused leader with a true hands-on approach. Passionate about service excellence, Kai was able to establish the young property as one of the leading resorts in the Mediterranean. Awards during his tenure included the Best Swimming Pool in a Hotel in Europe (Prix Vilegiature), Best Global Hideaway Resort (Haute Grandeur) and Montenegro’s Leading Hotel 2019 (World Travel Awards).

Kai is fluent in English, French and Thai. He is married to Noon and has one son, Kieran. Kai enjoys playing tennis and following his true passion of football, having been both a player and referee. His favorite club is Bayern Muenchen and he actively supports his home team Tus Haltern.
