Boris Erg is Director of the IUCN Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (IUCN ECARO). Boris’ professional career spans 25 years with core expertise in nature policy, protected and conserved areas and Nature-based Solutions. Throughout his career, he has cooperated with numerous international organizations, UN agencies, state authorities, NGOs, research organisations, businesses and financial institutions. He is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas where he serves on the Executive Committee of the Transboundary Conservation Specialist Group. Boris has continuously promoted the concepts of fair and equitable governance of natural resources as a response to growing societal and environmental challenges.
