Jelena Galić has been the Chief Executive Officer at AIK Banka a.d. Beograd since March 2015 and Chairwomen of Supervisory Board of Gorenjska banka d.d. Kranja since 2018. Under her leading, AIK Banka enlarged its position on the local market through aquision of Alpha Bank subsidiary in Serbia, as well as in the region through aquisition of Gorenjska banka in Slovenia, thus becaming regional banking group with assets size of around 4 bill eur. Previously, she held the position of Managing Director for Business Advisory at Deloitte Belgrade (Deloitte CE), and the leader for financial-service industry (FSI) of the cluster that includes Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Republic of Srpska. She was in charge of developing advisory practice and utilizing the “best practice” examples across Central Europe (CE) in identifying new opportunities on the local market. Her primary field of activity was based on working with financial institutions with respect to regulatory compliance and business improvements, along with the implementation of required change management. Prior to Deloitte, as Executive Director of the Economics Institute, Mrs. Galic was member of national working groups, formed to develop key national strategies. She was in charge of numerous projects related to governance of economic policies and implementation of structural reforms within the financial sector, as well as complex projects for clients in the real sector of economy. She has been in managing positions for the last 20 years.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Galić gained significant academic and professional expertise with respect to finance and banking, not only at the strategic, but also operational level. This valuable knowledge she passes on to the young generations as an Associate Professor at the Belgrade Banking Academy. Mrs. Galić has participated in numerous domestic and international conferences, and has thus far published more than 40 papers on monetary policy and stability of the banking sector. In addition, she is one of the founders and a former vice president of the Serbian Association of Managers (2006-2008), and a member of the Board of Directors (2008-2010 and 2017 - present). Mrs. Galić also holds active membership in several additional organizations: The National Association of Corporate Directors, Business club ‘Privrednik’, Banking Board of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Managing Board of the Serbian Banking Association, Serbian Scientific Society of Economists. She is a recipient of the ‘Kapetan Misa Anastasijevic’ award in the category Business Woman of the year 2015.

Mrs. Galic holds a Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. Her thesis explored the field of monetary policy and financial stability. She is fluent in English and German.  

She was born on March 12th, 1972, and has two children.
