Dr Jelena Gazivoda is a Senior Partner at JPM since 2013. She is a highly regarded legal expert with over 20 years of experience, advising on landmark transactions and projects of strategic importance for Serbia and the SEE region. She regularly handles market-leading projects and sophisticated transactions for a wide array of clients. 

Her expertise encompasses Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Energy Law, Banking & Finance, PPP/Concessions, Insurance, Mining, Insolvency/Bankruptcy and Liquidation, Aviation, Commercial Law, and International Commercial Law. 

She completed primary and secondary school in Belgrade.  After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Belgrade, she obtained her LL.M. degree at  the University of Cambridge UK), Faculty of Law. In 2016 she defended her doctoral dissertation at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law. 

Since 2016 Jelena is the Lecturer both at the Advocacy Academy of the Bar Association of the Republic of Serbia and on post-graduate studies/master courses at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law.

Jelena is repeatedly listed in the ‘Leading Lawyers’ section of the Legal 500 EMEA and IFLR 1000. She is also ranked in the Chambers Europe (Corporate/Commercial) for Serbia. She is one of just a few legal practitioners from CEE recognized as IFLR Women Leaders since 2018.

Jelena has published numerous scientific papers and articles in leading international journals and is an active member of various professional associations such as the International Bar Association (IBA), European Law Association, Belgrade Bar Association, Association of Commercial Lawyers of Serbia, and Association for Insurance Law of Serbia.
