Born in Belgrade where he graduated at Faculty of Economics. Joined Politika daily in 1972 and soon after went to the Foreign desk. Traveled extensively around the world. As a war correspondent he covered Middle East, Asia and Africa. He was Alfred Friendly fellow with The Washington Post, correspondent from Middle East based in Cairo and from Rome, Italy.
Mr. Jaksic retired in 2014 but continues writing as a senior columnist covering foreign, regional and domestic affairs for Politika daily, Belgrade and Oslobođenje daily, Sarajevo. He also contributes to various international, regional and Serbian radio and TV stations.
