JURČIĆ Ljubo

Ljubo Jurčić is Professor of International Economics and History of Economics Thought on Undergraduate Study. He also teaches Macroeconomic Management, Determinants of National Competitiveness and Foreign Trade Theory at Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb.
Since the beginning of his work at the Faculty, he has taught more than ten different subjects, mainly from the field of economic theory, economic policy and quantitative methods of economic analysis.
He has published more than hundred scientific and professional papers in the field of economic policy, international economics, political economy and economic analysis.
He is a member of the editorial board of several international scientific journals.
Since the beginning of his working life, he has worked at the Faculty of Economics and Business and parallel for ten years, in state owned production company, and then for ten years he led his own private companies. He was a member of a number of supervisory boards and state advisory bodies. He is now the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Zagreb Holding.
He is the President of the Croatian Economic Society since 2006, and also a member of the Geo-Economical Forum. He was the Minister of the Croatian Economy in the period from 2002 to 2003 and the member of Croatian Parliament in two mandates.
He has published three books in co-authorship: China in the Balkans, International Trade thought History and the International Economics Handbook. He regularly writes columns on current political-economic topics.
He is the winner of the first five annual awards for the Economic Analyst of the year "Gorazd Nikić", „Privredni vjesnik“ by the choice of entrepreneurs.
