Following the college degree in law earned in 2003, Roland Kokai obtained a LLB degree in 2006, at the Business Academy – Faculty of Law in Novi Sad. He continued his formal education in 2014-2015 at the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management, also in Novi Sad, where he studied the field of financial management, international business, business logistics and financial risk management. After completing these studies, he acquired the title of Master of Economics.
His professional career started in 2005, when he started working as a civil servant for the Government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, at the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, where his career advanced to the position of the Head of the Project Section. He was also responsible for tasks related to coordination of interregional cooperation, with special focus on applying for calls for proposals and implementation of cross-border development projects in the framework of EU funded programmes (IPA-CBC), with different regions from neighbouring countries (Croatia, Romania, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina etc.) As a member of the project team of the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, he took part in the implementation of several dozens of EU funded projects.
His excellent communication skills, experience in project management, regular business correspondence with different levels and authorities of public administration, as well as with the cross-border partners and contractors have resulted in his participation in other responsibilities related to the activities of public authorities. On behalf of the Government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, he took part in the work of the negotiating group of the Republic of Serbia in the European integration process, in fact in Chapter 22 on Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments. He was also involved in development of the Action Plan within the Development Programme of the AP Vojvodina for the period 2014-2017 and 2018-2020.
On 29 July 2019 he assumed the position of Director of the Public Company “Vojvodinašume“ Petrovaradin.
He speaks Hungarian, Serbian and English language.
He was born in 1977 in Bačka Topola. He lives in Novi Sad with his wife and two children.
