German Ambassador to Serbia
Ambassador Anke Konrad studied Russian Language and Literature in Moscow, Russia, and entered the German Federal Foreign Office in 1993. Upon completing diplomatic training, she was first posted to the German Embassy in Warsaw before returning to the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. From 2002 to 2010, Ambassador Konrad served at German Embassies in Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire and the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations Office in Geneva. Back in Berlin, she served as deputy head of division, followed by a second posting to the German Embassy in Warsaw, Poland. From 2018 to 2022, she headed the division for Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus in the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. In September 2022, she assumed the position of German Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia. She is fluent in English, French, Polish and Russian and has a basic knowledge of Serbian.
