MANDIĆ Darko
CEO and Co-Founder, MeliBio
Darko Mandich is a Serbian entrepreneur born in Croatia, now living and working in the United States. 
 
After finishing his education in economics at FEFA Faculty, Darko spent a decade working for and building innovative food companies in Serbia with focus on honey and sweeteners category.
 
In 2019, Darko moved to the United States and co-founded a venture capital backed food biotechnology company MeliBio, located in San Francisco Bay Area, California. MeliBio is using science and technology to create the future honey industry that is not relied on animals. TIME magazine selected MeliBio as one of the Best Inventions 2021. Investors in MeliBio include leading global food-tech VC funds such as Big Idea Ventures from New York, Joyance Partners from San Francisco and Sustainable Food Ventures from Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Darko is holding the position of the CEO of MeliBio & Board Director.
 
In order to give back to the startup ecosystem and facilitate sharing knowledge and innovation in the South East Europe, Darko founded Foodscale Hub, a non-governmental organization operating as an impact venture studio working to accelerate the shift towards tech-enabled innovations in the agri-food sector, with offices and executive teams in Serbia and Greece.
 
Darko is always curios to connect with entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the food-tech space and talk on how to progress with building the future of food that is sustainable, accessible to everyone and animal-free.
