Former Deputy Prime Minister of Albania and MP
Senida Mesi is a development economist with more than 22 years of experience.
Deputy Prime Minister (2017-2019), with direct responsibilities for Public Administration Reform & Public Service Delivery and Digitalization Reform. She was in charge and leading the implementation of the Agenda 2030 for Albania and National Gender Coordinator.
Member of Albania Parliament (2017-2021).
Member of Municipality Council (2015-2017), enhancing her with expertise in both central and local governance, private and public finance.

Former Senior Manager and Member of Board in the banking system and Adjunct-University professor in Economics.  
Co-founder and chairwoman of the Joint SDGs Acceleration Fund in Albania as an initiative of Albania Government and UN.
Founder and chairwoman of the “Sustainable Development subcommittee” in Albania Parliament.

She served as Chair of other Government and International Donors Projects Committees, working closely with EU Delegation in Albania, UN, Development Banks (WB, KfW, EBRD) and Developing Agencies of Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Germany, France (SDC, SIDA, ADA, GIZ, AFD)
 
She has extended experience in consulting business in innovation, financial performance, fiscal policies and taxes, building up and scaling up, start-up and social enterprises and access to finance.
Her strength consists on the intermediation between public and private cooperation aiming for social inclusion and sustainability.
 
Actually she is an International Consultant with the focus in Sustainability, Development finance, Business Innovation, Digital banking, Public Administration and Local development and serves in some International Non-Executive Boards, such as:
- Member of the European Commission’s High-Level Expert Group (HLEG) on scaling up sustainable finance in low and middle-income countries.
Contribution for a dedicated Commission Strategy to scale up sustainable finance in low and middle-income countries (LMIC), addressing inequalities and foster a green, just and resilient global recovery by mobilizing private capital for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (e.g. sustainable finance roadmaps including transition strategies, taxonomies, green bonds standards, sustainability-related disclosures, ESG data to support sustainable investments decisions)
- UN SDSN Western Balkan (United Nations Sustainable Development Solution Network) Leadership Council Member
Promote integrated approaches to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, through education, research, policy analysis, and global cooperation.

Passionate to work in the biggest challenges of our time, helping Governments and Politics to respond effectively to the diverse and disruptive economic, social and environmental challenges to improve people’s life, achieve sustainable economic growth and decrease inequalities, youth and women engagement and leadership, digital innovation, sustainable finance, ESG and SDGs.
 
She holds a MSc in Management, Business Administration from Tirana University and a Diploma in Banking from “ProCredit Academy” Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a postgraduate diploma from Council of Europe - School of Political Studies, The George Washington University- Centre for Excellence in Public Leadership and SDG Academy in “Macroeconomics for Sustainable Planet”.
