United Nations Resident Coordinator in Serbia
Matilde Mordt of Sweden is the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Serbia since June 2024.
Ms. Mordt has over 30 years of experience and technical knowledge on sustainable development, social policy, governance, climate and environment.
Previously, she served as Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ecuador, Team Leader of the Sustainable Development Group at UNDP's Regional Hub for Latin America, and the Caribbean in Panama, and in various capacities with UNDP in Nicaragua, Paraguay, Argentina and at Headquarters in New York. As consultant, Ms. Mordt worked with numerous UN agencies, the EU, bilateral cooperation agencies and development banks. She has researched, published and lectured on international sustainable development policy, poverty reduction, resilience and climate change.
Ms. Mordt holds a Ph.D. in Human and Economic Geography with a specialisation in livelihoods and sustainability, a Master’s degree in international economics and business administration, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
