NEDOVIĆ Viktor

Prof. Dr. Viktor Nedović served as State Secretary and Assistant Minister for International Cooperation and EU Integration in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Republic of Serbia for more than ten years in the period 2007-2020. He was national coordinator for FP7 as well as Horizon 2020 programme. He is a member of many committees, bodies and expert’s ad hoc groups at the European Commission that are responsible for the creation and implementation of EU policies in the fields of science, research and innovation, like European Research Area Committee, ERAC, Board of Governors of Join Research Center, JRC BofG, COST Scientific Committee. He is coordinator of Priority Area 7 (PA7), Knowledge Society, of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) that is related to the regional cooperation in research, higher education and ICT. In the frame of the accession of Serbia to the European Union he was chairing the negotiation group for the chapter 25 (“Science and Research”) – it was the first chapter Serbia successfully closed at the intergovernmental session EU-Serbia in December 2016. He has coordinated the process of Smart Specialization Strategy of Republic of Serbia (4S) development and preparation (strategy was adopted by the Government of Republic of Serbia on February 27, 2020), and has chaired the inter-ministerial 4S working group.  He also contributed to and co-authorised of “The Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, 2010-2015, Focus and Partnership”, and “The Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, 2016-2020, Research for Innovation”.

Prof. Dr. Viktor Nedović is full professor of University of Belgrade (Department of Food Technology and Biochemistry, Faculty of Agriculture), Republic of Serbia.

His research areas belong to biotechnology, food science&technology, and biochemical engineering. As author and co-author he has published over 400 articles, more than 100 papers in SCI journals and more than 30 book chapters. In addition, he has edited four books for the renowned scientific publishers (Kluwer and Springer). He has been coordinating or participating in more than 50 research projects, out of which more then 30 are international ones, including Horizon 2020, FP7, FP6, EUREKA projects, COST actions, etc. His scientific papers have been cited more than 5300 times, and his h factor is 37 (Google Scholar, March 20, 2021). In 2015 he became an associate member of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia (AESS). He is founder and president of the Serbian Association of Food Technologists (SAFT). Besides it, he is a member of numerous national and international professional and scientific organizations, like: European Federation of Food Science and Technology, EFFoST (in the period 2007-2011 and again from 2013 to 2017 he has been the EFFoST Executive Committee member); International Society of Food Engineering, ISFE; European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (General Secretary of Regional Section Serbia), EHEDG; European Academy of Food Engineering (EAFE). He is a char person of EFFoST Task Team CEFood congresses. He is initiator and organizer of national student’s competition in the creation of eco-innovative food products, EcoTrophelia Serbia, under the umbrella of EcoTrophelia Europe, where he serves as member of the international jury.
