POPOVIĆ Vladimir
State Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Government of Republic of Serbia
Prof. dr Vladimir Popović is full professor at The University of Belgrade - The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Since 2016 he has been a State Secretary at The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, in charge of Science, Technological Development and International Cooperation. Also, from 2018 onwards he has been Chair of Motor Vehicles Department (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and President of Council for Cooperation beetwen Science and Economy (Serbian Chamber of Commerce).

Between 2014 and 2016 he was President of The Board of Directors of Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, and between 2012 and 2015 he was Vice Dean for finance at The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. From 2013 onwards he has been General Manager of CIAH Laboratory (Centre for Testing and Homologation of Vehicles - CIAH Laboratory is the biggest and the most important science and testing facility in the area of vehicle testing in Serbia).

He is the author of one book, co-author of two, author of one chapter in a publication of international renown, 45 papers in international and domestic journals (20 of which are from SCI list), 50 papers at international congresses and conferences (among others, four times World Automotive Congress - FISITA). Furthermore, he has managed a large number of international and national science and commercial projects.

His current research interests include: Passive safety of motor vehicles (member of Working Party on Passive Safety at UNECE World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations in Geneva); Road transport (ATP and ADR Agreement, safety, environment, special vehicles - a representative of Serbia in Working Party on Transport of Perishable Foodstuffs at UNECE Transport Division in Geneva); Active safety of motor vehicles etc.
