POPOVIĆ Vladimir

Prof. Dr. Ing. Vladimir M. Popović is a full professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - University of Belgrade and currently he is Dean of the same faculty.
He is corresponding member of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia.
He was the State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia in period 2016-2020. Prof. Popović was President of Board of Directors at the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences in period 2014-2016, President of the Board of Science of the Republic of Serbia Commission for cooperation with UNESCO, and President of the Council for cooperation between Science and Commerce (Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Serbia).
He has authored one book, co-authored two books, published 60 papers in international and domestic journals (28 out of which are from SCI list), 70 papers at international congresses and conferences (among others, four times World Automotive Congress - FISITA, and two times European Automotive Congress - EAEC) and authored 14 technical solutions. He has mentored 5 PhD theses and over 50 Master theses.
For the past 12 years, he has been General Manager of the CIAH Laboratory, laboratory accredited for vehicle testing at the University of Belgrade, a major science-research potential of the Republic of Serbia in the area of motor vehicles. Also, he was the Head of the Department of Motor Vehicles at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
In 2022, he received the city of Užice Charter, awarded to the most prominent representatives.
He is full member of the Matica srpska Society.
