RAKIĆ Branka
Scientist, The Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development of Serbia
Experienced scientist working for 10 years in field of systems biology and toxicology. Performed and lead various curation projects for database purposes wrote hundreds of literature reviews for pharma companies.

EXPERIENCE

NOVEMBER 2021 – PRESENT
RESEARCHER, THE INTITUTE FOR AI RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF SERBIA

Focused on AI projects for Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industry.

2017 – 2021
LEAD SCIENTIST AND COFOUNDER, BIOLOGICSHUB

Together with a college I started up a company. We provide science consultancy services to some of the top 10 Pharma companies, tobacco, and cosmetic industry. Company offers diverse services including toxicology reports, systems biology projects and bio-curation for database purposes.

2012 – 2017
LEAD SCIENTIST, CAMBRIDGE CELL NETWORKS

I was involved in sales, marketing, and development of toxicology-centered pathway analysis database/software. I led a team of up to 10 scientists performing curation for in-house and client databases. I have communicated the project with a client and designed the curation workflow (defining sources, curation rules, and ontologies).

2006- 2012
PhD GRADUATE STUDENT, VBC - VIENNA BIOCENTER

During my PhD, I work in Dr. Werner Aufsatz laboratory, Epigenetics, and RNA silencing. I have gained training in various molecular biology and epigenetics, from bench experiments to sophisticated data analysis.

EDUCATION

JUN 2011
PhD, FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCE, VIENNA UNIVERSITY

Five years of PhD studies in Molecular biology, epigenetics
Thesis title: “Role of histone deacetylase HAD6 in RNA silencing”

DECEMBER 2006
GRADUATED IN MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND PHYSIOLOGY, FACULTY OF BIOLOGY, UNIVERSITY OF BELGRADE
