Education:
Upon completion of XII Belgrade Gymnasium, he graduated from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics at the University of Belgrade – Department of Geography. During his education, he accomplished extraordinary results and acquired the right to accelerated studies. He graduated at 22 years of age. As the recipient of scholarship, he completed his postgraduate studies in the Centre for Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Belgrade – Department of Environmental Protection.
Professional experience:
The entire professional experience of Minister Sarcevic is related with the field of education. His main focus is work on development of quality and efficiency in educational and pedagogical process.
He worked as a counsellor in the Home for high school students of Railway School in Belgrade, and as geography teacher in several schools in Belgrade. He had outstanding results as a teacher and was awarded several times by numerous social organizations such as the Council for Technology and Science.
At the beginning of his career, at 33 years of age, he became the director of Primary School Nikola Tesla in Belgrade and he also managed professional groups of school directors.
For the needs of the state, he took part in establishing of Primary School Branko Copic and XV Belgrade Gymnasium.
Initiator of opening of several private schools both in Serbia and the region (the first private gymnasium and the first private institution in general in Montenegro).
In 2003, as the director, he organized and initiated work of the General Gymnasium Rudjer Boskovic in Belgrade. Two years later, in 2005, he founded primary school with the same name, and that was the first private primary school in the country, thus creating unified system of pre-university education.
As the director of the Gymnasium, and subsequently as the general manager of the Educational System Rudjer Boskovic he took part in introduction and establishing of high standards in primary and secondary education.
He is the founder (with the group of like-minded persons) of State and Regional Centre for Young Talents. He worked as the advisor of German school in Belgrade, Serbian minority school in Budapest and in South Africa (with Zimbabwe).
Following the global, contemporary tendencies in education, he established cooperation with the institutions with the mission to develop high quality international education, which are the leaders in that filed: IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) and Cambridge International Examinations.
Through support and implementation of IB programmes (Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, IB Diploma Programme), as well as Cambridge Primary, Secondary 1 and IGCSE, Minister Sarcevic introduced the most distinguished educational programmes in the educational system of Serbia.
He organized and supported projects which connect schools and students within the Republic of Serbia, the region and Europe.
In August 2016, he became the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. As of that time, all functions of Mr. Sarcevic in the Educational System Rudjer Boskovic have been suspended.
Married, father of two adult children.
