VLAHOVIĆ Aleksandar
President, Serbian Association of Economists
Aleksandar Vlahovic is President of Serbian Association of Economists. He assumed that position in 2011, reelected in 2015. He is also President and Owner of the investment consulting company Belgrade Capital Group, and audit company UHY Revizija. Also he holds board member position within Erstebank Serbia, as well as position of special advisor to the Executive Board of Wiener Stadtische Osiguranje. Mr. Vlahovic is a member of the Board of Vienna Economic Forum. He is specialized in providing financial advisory and M&A services in accordance with international applied standards.
Mr. Vlahović was senior partner of Deloitte Touche Central Europe. During his Deloitte’s career he was Office Managing Partner for DT Yugoslavia and Lead Valuation Partner for the Balkans zone countries.
From 2001 to March 2004 Mr. Vlahovic was the Minister of the Economy and Privatization in the first democratic government of Serbia, appointed by the Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic. During his term of office, numerous important reform statutes were prepared and adopted, of which the principal ones were the Privatization Law, as well as Law on Business Registration and Company Law.
From April 2004 to May 2012 he was a Member of Serbian Parliament, elected on the list of Democratic Party, as well as a member of the Finance and Committee for International Economic Cooperation, and Head of the Serbian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PA BSEC).
In 2004, Mr. Vlahovic founded EKI Investment, an investment company. From 2011 until 2014 he was the President and owner of the Economics Institute of Belgrade, the oldest think tank and consulting firm in Serbia (founded in 1947).
Mr. Vlahovic was the President of the Sports Society "Red Star" (2006-2010) and the Vice President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia (2006-2016).
