Dušan Živković is an electrical engineer with decades of work experience in managerial positions as well as in investments, financing, engineering, design of power systems, control systems and their implementation in the Elektroprivreda Srbije. He has been the head of the Joint Stock Company Elektroprivreda Srbije since June 2023, and since June 2024 he has been the General Manager of the greatest power company in Serbia and the region.
Živković initiated the EPS Transformation Program, changing the organizational structure and improving operational and financial processes, which, along with the digitalization of business processes and services, aim to make the greatest power company in the region a market-oriented and profitable company, ready to successfully deal with the challenges of global markets, and at the same time being focused on enhancing customers’ satisfaction and achieving the goals of the Green Agenda.
With his team, he completed the construction of the Unit B3 in Kostolac, with a capacity of 350 megawatts, the first major power plant in Serbia after more than three decades. At the same time, in the greatest thermal power plant in the Balkans, in TENT A, a major environmental project has been completed - the construction of a flue gas desulphurization plant. He is one of the key people who initiated investments in exploiting renewable sources in EPS, and the construction of the first EPS wind farm in Kostolac and construction of the solar power plant are coming to an end. He recognized the importance of the construction of the Pumped-Storage Hydro Power Plant Bistrica, the most important project for further development of the RES sector, as well as the necessity of implementing the 1 GW solar power plant project.
He has made significant contacts with numerous international companies in the energy sector, with successful cooperation and exchange of experience necessary for continuous improvement and development, as well as restructuring processes of the Serbian power companies. Unequivocally supporting the Serbian economy, through the projects he created conditions for their development, as well as the support for them to compete as successfully as possible in markets around the world.
He started his professional career in Jugel Engineering company on the construction of the National Dispatch Center. For two decades, he worked and managed investments, renewable energy sources and development of production capacities within EPS, and then managed the Department for Renewable Energy Sources in the distribution network. He actively participated in preparation of long-term investment and development plans, as well as in numerous projects for rehabilitation of equipment in open-cast mines, thermal power plants, hydro power plants, transmission and distribution networks, environmental protection projects, RES development and energy efficiency. He also dedicated part of his career to the introduction of smart metering at the distribution level, creating conditions for a significant share of RES, but also the introduction of some new technologies in the Serbian energy sector.
